Nieves Named MCC Student Government Association President

MCC is pleased to announce its new SGA President for the 2025-226 academic year. His name is Ricky Merida Nieves and he is a senior at Montgomery County Early College. As SGA president, Ricky represents the MCC student body in monthly Board of Trustee meetings. He also coordinates with campus ambassadors and staff in Student Services to come up with creative ways to engage students and bring visibility to exciting aspects of campus life. MCC Recognizes its Annual Scholarship Recipients

On August 26th, around 60 Montgomery Community College students received financial awards from the very special people and organizations who endow scholarships at the College. Students and their donors were able to meet each other in person during a ceremony and post-event reception. One hundred eleven scholarships were awarded, totaling over $160,000. The evening began with the presentation of merit awards, which are scholarships based on a student’s performance in their program and recommendations from their instructors.  The next group of awards, in its third year, were scholarships awarded to continuing education students through an established endowed fund. On April 24th MCC celebrated its best and brightest as the College community came together to present annual academic awards. Thousands of Meals Prepared at MLK “Day On” Event at MCC

Approximately 120 volunteers met at Montgomery Community College to package nearly 10,000 meals in a half-day of service on January 20, 2025. Volunteers from MCC (board, students, faculty and staff), Communities in Schools, 4-H, Youth Leadership Montgomery, Eckerd Connects, Montgomery County Schools staff, East Middle School, Montgomery County Early College and Troy Rotary participated in the 17th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. “Day On” Challenge.
