Full-Time:

Counselor/Title IX Coordinator
The Counselor/Title IX Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of counseling students and compliance with Title IX and Disability Services for Montgomery Community College. Coordinates the individual and group counseling services that support current and prospective community college students in meeting their career development, personal, educational and academic goals. Administers and interprets career inventories. Conducts classroom workshops for personal and career development. Provides supportive counseling and refers students as needed to local and state support agencies. Serves as Title IX Coordinator and ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and laws regarding student admissions, counseling, record keeping, ADA services and FERPA. Coordinate retention and student success efforts for students with excessive absences, behavioral and emotional needs, and unsatisfactory performance in the classroom. Coordinates the onboarding, scheduling and monthly timesheet submission for tutoring staff. Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Counseling, Education, Human Services, or related field from an accredited college or university required.2-3 years of experience with the NC Community College System preferred. Knowledge of Colleague and AVISO/Watermark systems preferred; proficiency with Word and Excel required. Knowledge in Disability services and/or Title IX preferred. Accuracy in maintaining assessment records and providing reports is essential. Bi-lingual encouraged.

Data Entry Clerk (Student Services)
The Data Entry Clerk serves as a generalist in Student Services providing data entry and student follow up services to applicants and students. Duties include but are not limited to: working with applicants to complete all necessary steps for admissions, follow up on all data entry and missing documents, community outreach activities to recruit new students, and to provide support to students as part of the Student Services team. Minimum Requirements: Associates degree required. Work experience or diploma/degree in a business/information technology field preferred. Ability to multi-task and process data with speed, accuracy and attention to detail.

Assistant to Vice President of Instruction and Student Services
The Administrative Assistant to the VP of Instruction and Student Services provides administrative and clerical support to the VP and curriculum programs of study. The individual functions as office manager making independent decisions regarding administrative matters. The person must organize and implement procedures to expedite workflow and complete tasks independent of supervisory oversight. The position requires that the individual work well independently without close supervision and with adherence to established guidelines. Duties include but are not limited to: Create PT faculty contracts, prepare curriculum schedule each semester, schedule classroom spaces, maintain schedule of classes on college website, Assist with registration activities as needed. Minimum Requirements: Associates degree in Office System Technology or Information System Technology and two years experience in the field.

Adjunct instructors will be responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, assisting in development of courses, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements and maintaining competency in their instructional field.

Part-Time WIOA Youth Program Specialist
This position is responsible for working directly with WIOA-eligible Montgomery County residents to secure training and employment opportunities. Conducts outreach and recruitment of youth customers. This staff member provides career counseling and case management to each program participant, analyzing their work background, skills, and interests to customize a career plan.

This position will provide customer service and front desk coverage for the career center.

Requirements: Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Services or related business field. Strong computer and written communication skills. Well-developed interpersonal skills and knowledge of community building. Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and complete objectives without direct supervision

Drone Instructor
Our Continuing Education division is seeking an experienced Drone Instructor. The instructor will deliver instruction in Part-107 knowledge and understanding, basic flight control, rules and regulations, in preparing students for licensing. The instructor will be expected to provide rigorous, high-quality continuing education to all students.

Minimum Requirements: Part 107 Remote Operator Certificate. Ability to use computers and software to support instruction.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree. Experience working in an educational setting. Five or more years drone operations experience.

Phlebotomy Instructor, Part-time
Part-time Phlebotomy Instructor needed to teach a comprehensive, hybrid 200-hour course that will prepare students to enter the medical field as a Phlebotomy Technician.

Qualifications: Two years current clinical experience as a Phlebotomy Technician or other health related fields that include use of phlebotomy skills. Documentation of Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in a health-related field from a regionally accredited college or current National Phlebotomy Certified from one of the following organizations: ASPT, ASCP, or AMT required.

Fire Service Instructor
Montgomery Community College is looking to expand our part-time Fire
Service faculty in Continuing Education. Using NC OSFM lesson materials the Fire Service Instructor will present course materials in a manner which is relevant and informative. The instructor will deliver basic and/or
specialized instruction in firefighting techniques to volunteer and
professional fire service personnel. Instructors prepare students for state
certification and provide rigorous, high-quality continuing education

Law Enforcement Instructor

PT Instructor(s) for Nursing Assistant I Program
Registered nurse with an unencumbered license to practice in North Carolina; at least 2 years (4000 hours) of experience as a registered nurse and proof of one of the following:  Completion of a course in teaching adults, experience in teaching adults, or experience in supervising nurse aides required.  Position includes classroom, online, and clinical instruction.  Employment date: Open.

Nursing Instructor for Part-Time Clinical Instruction
16 hours per week.  Master’s degree in Nursing preferred.  Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse, and (2) calendar years or equivalent of Full-Time Clinical experience as a Registered Nurse required.  Pay based on MCC Salary Plan.

Adjunct Pool (College & Career Readiness)
Classes will help individuals earn a High School Equivalency diploma, learn English, improve spelling, math, and writing skills or generally improve their academic skills in preparation for college-level coursework. Bachelor’s degree, applicable certifications and/or 2 years education training experience is preferred.  Application review is continuous and opportunities are on an “as needed” basis.

Adjunct Computer-Integrated Machining Instructor
Under general supervision, this individual will prepare and teach computer integrated machining courses designed for career technical programs. The faculty member must be able to instruct a wide variety of topics within the curriculum in a laboratory environment and may be required to teach day, evening and/or weekend hours.  Associate’s degree in machining or a related field from a regionally accredited institution and 3 years of relevant industry experience in computer integrated machining or related field required.  National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) certifications for teaching assignment or the qualifications/experience to obtain within 1yr of hire and/or a Bachelor’s degree in a related area of study preferred.  More than 3 years of relevant industry experience in computer integrated machining, post-secondary teaching and/or industry training experience, experience with set-up and operation of conversational mills/lathes, experience with multi-axis on both lathes and mills, and/or experience with set-up and operation of CNC equipment preferred. Open until filled. 

Part-time HVAC Instructor (Evenings)
Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the HVAC field. Computer experience required and teaching experience a plus. NCCER certified trainer preferred but not required. This position is ongoing until filled; the anticipated start date is August 2021. Salary is based on education and experience.

Part-time Upholstery Instructor (Evening)
High School diploma. Five years upholstery experience required. Instructor or trainer experience preferred.

Food Service Technology Instructor, Part-Time

  • Provides instruction to introduce students to the foodservice industry and prepare them for entry-level positions in industrial, institutional or commercial production foodservice operations.
  • Develop course syllabi, outlines, and lesson plans for curriculum courses assigned.
  • Review and select appropriate textbooks and instructional materials
    and media for the classes to be taught.
  • Develops lectures, classroom activities, and hands-on exercises for
    students to participate and learn.
  • Monitors and records student progress in courses.
  • Administers tests or other evaluation methods to students.
  • Keeps records of student attendance.

Course concepts to be covered include sanitation, basic and intermediate food service production skills, baking, menus, purchasing and basic cost control. Graduates should qualify for employment as line cooks, prep cooks, or bakers in production foodservice settings or entry level kitchen management in an institutional food service setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of five years of experience in the food service
    industry, or an Associate in Applied Science degree in Culinary Arts or a
    similar field.
  • Must be willing to teach in a correctional facility.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills, and good
    computer skills.
