MCC has created a one-mile walking circuit on its campus with inspirational messaging along the way to uplift and inspire travelers. “We have a lot of people who exercise each day,” explains Director of Counseling Hollie Ritter. “Because we have such a beautiful campus, we thought it would be a great opportunity to create a happy and hopeful path to inspire our walkers.”

The Mental Health Mile as it is known, has 15 stops with encouraging messages like Hard Days Don’t Last Forever and What’s One Thing You’re Grateful For?
“We want to encourage and inform students that mental health can be supported in many ways such as therapy, healthy eating and movement,” said Ritter. “Providing The Mental Health Mile gives the campus community a free resource to support their mental health through physical exercise.”
The one-mile route begins at the corner of Building 200 at the front parking lot. There is a literature box on the post containing small maps for people using The Mental Health Mile for the first time.
