Thank you for choosing Montgomery Community College. Our goal is to make your admission process simple and seamless. For the best possible results, we recommend completing these admission procedures at least four weeks prior to enrolling in classes.
An applicant applying fewer than four weeks prior to enrollment may be notified to follow admission procedures as a walk-in student during our open registration period.
Your Student ID
Upon completing your Application for Admission you receive an ID number which becomes a part of your student e-mail user name and initial password. Most correspondence will be sent to you via your TrailMail (student e-mail) account.
Provide an official high school (or equivalent) transcript and official transcripts from all colleges attended. Submit a completed Transcript Request Form directly to each school previously attended. An official transcript is one mailed directly to MCC from the high school or college attended. Click here to request North Carolina high school equivalency records.
Apply for Financial Aid
If you wish to apply for financial aid, please visit MCC's financial aid page for a step-by-step process.
Most students are required to take one or more preadmission tests for academic advising and course placement purposes only.
Students who have (1) completed college-level English and math courses, (2) already taken a placement test or tests, or (3) qualified for the NC Multiple Measures waiver may be exempt from testing. If the Enrollment Office has your official transcripts for these exemptions, you will be notified that you are exempt.
Limited Enrollment and Wait List
Please be aware that some of our programs have limited enrollment. When a program reaches its enrollment limit, the applicant will be notified by the Enrollment Office regarding wait list eligibility and any additional requirements that must be met before being placed on a wait list. (In many cases, this is a multiple-step process as applicants may have one or more additional requirements that must be met prior to being placed on a wait list.)
When any prerequisite requirement has been met, including remedial work as indicated by the NC DAP Accuplacer test, the applicant notifies the Enrollment Office. At that time, the applicant's record is re-assessed and the applicant will be notified concerning wait list status or additional requirements.
Individual degree, diploma, and certificate programs may have additional requirements. Please see below or consult the MCC Catalog for more information.
