MCC is pleased to welcome Drew Winters as its Dean of Student Services! Drew is a native of Brunswick County. He graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and received a master’s degree in Recreation and Sport Administration from Western Kentucky University. He comes to MCC from the College of Business at East Carolina University, and worked in Student Life at Barton College for the four years prior.

Student Services is a very broad team, encompassing financial aid, counseling, advising, the registration process, recruitment, admissions and retention. It touches students every step of the way through their MCC journey, so having an experienced, personable leader at the helm is really important.

“I’m looking forward to bringing stability and excitement to this team,” explains Drew. “Our staff are very talented, and we are off to a great start together. It’s a small group, but an important one. Student Services has enormous impact on student life, and I’m looking forward to growing as a team.”

One of the phases Drew is really looking forward to is the implementation of the College’s Quality Enhancement Plan, Onboarding. Over the next couple of years, the Student Services team will re-engineer the journey through which a student chooses MCC, applies to the College, is accepted and begins coursework. By streamlining the onboarding process, MCC aims to dramatically improve student experience and satisfaction.
