This endowment is named in memory of Margaret & Herbert C. Green by Patricia G. Fish and Gustaff V. Fish Jr. The Greens were educators in Montgomery County for many years. They were both dedicated to their teaching careers and enjoyed working with young people. Margaret taught 4th grade in the Troy schools and Herbert taught agriculture and horticulture at Troy High School and West Montgomery High School. He enjoyed his work as he shared his love of farming, animals and plants with hundreds of students throughout the years. As he believed strongly in reforestation of land, he and his students planted thousands of pine trees throughout Montgomery County during the 1950s and 1960s.
