For two decades, Mr. Frank Kersey dedicated his time and talents to the honorable position as mayor of the town of Star. During those years he also worked as vice president of manufacturing with Clayson Knitting Company. Under the Kersey administration, Star was able to build and pay for a new town municipal building to house town offices, the fire, and police departments, and to serve as conference space for use by local clubs and civic organizations. Mr. Kersey was also a member of the MCC Board of Trustees in the 1980s and 90s. Mrs. Joan Kersey was an active leader in the Star community, the Methodist church, and the Star/Biscoe Woman’s Club. Her untimely death left a deep void in the hearts of the community.
