This memorial scholarship remembers the significant contributions made by Dr. Joseph Reese Blair II and his wife, Dr. Claudia Barton Blair. Together, the Drs. Blair dedicated their lives to advancing the medical profession and to using their resources for the betterment of humankind. In their careers, Dr. Joseph Blair was a U.S. Army Colonel and respected medical researcher. Dr. Claudia Blair was a pioneering pediatrician who served as chief of the pediatric clinic at Kirk Army Hospital in Aberdeen, Maryland. Outside of their livelihoods, the Blairs gave freely of their resources to fund educational endowments, donated land for construction of schools, hospitals, parks and churches, and volunteered their time to helping others.
