A night of jazz featuring the carolina sound connection. Dinner, raffle, silent auction.

The Montgomery Community College Foundation will host a $5,000 raffle, dinner, and silent auction on Friday, September 21 at 6:00 PM at the James Garner Center in Troy, NC.

In addition to the $5,000 grand prize, ten $100 prizes will be awarded.

This year's raffle event features the return of The Carolina Sound Committee, a North Carolina jazz quintet who also entertained at the college's 50th Anniversary Gala last year.

"Everyone loved the jazz quintet last year so we decided to invite them back," said Korrie Ervin, MCC Resource Development Director.

The event will have a jazz-themed motif and menu, and event-goers are encouraged to dress their jazziest in black, gold, and white. Beer and wine will be available, and the wine will be supplied by Surry Community College's viticulture program.

Silent auction items this year include tickets to various events and amusements including the Charlotte Ballet, UNC basketball, NASCAR, Tweetisie Railroad, Greensboro Grasshoppers, US National Whitewater Rafting trip, and more. Other auction items include a Carolina Panthers autographed football, and one-of-a-kind baskets filled with everything from craft beer to zombie apocalypse survival gear.

For more information about the event contact Korrie Ervin at ervink@montgomery.edu or 910-898-9603. Tickets may be purchased from any MCC employee or board member.
