One new staff member and four new faculty members were introduced to the Montgomery Community College Board of Trustees

at their August meeting at MCC. One more new faculty member will be introduced at the September meeting.

Sarks TaylorTaylor Sarks, MCC’s part-time webmaster and systems technician was hired full-time in that capacity. Taylor graduated from MCC in 2017 with his associate degree in Information Technology and holds several Microsoft certifications.



hathcock kevinThe new math instructor, Kevin Hathcock, hails from Salisbury, NC. He was a high school math teacher in the public school system and most recently he taught math at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. Kevin holds a BS in mathematics and a BS in physics from Lenoir-Ryne University, and a master’s in mathematics from the University of South Carolina.



scott amberAmber Scott, MSN, RN and Robin Gibson, MSN, RN, are new nursing instructors at MCC. Amber is from Greensboro and was a member of the practical nursing faculty at ECPI University. Her BSN is from Winston-Salem State University and her MSN is from Capella University.



gibson robinRobin Gibson, MSN, RN, is from Monroe and taught nursing assistant and practical nursing at South Piedmont Community College. Robin holds an MSN from UNC-Wilmington and a BSN from Fayetteville State University. Additional nursing faculty were hired in anticipation of the college offering an Associate Degree in Nursing in the fall semester of 2019 pending NC Board of Nursing approval.


garner jenniferJennifer Garner, CMA (AAMA), a 1998 MCC graduate, will be chairing the Medical Assisting program. She has had over 20 years’ experience as a Certified Medical Assistant and was the practice manager at Randolph Medical Heath Group since 2013 before coming to MCC.

 

hussey joshuaJoshua Hussey is the new Forest Management Technology instructor and will be introduced to the college's Board in September. Josh holds an AAS in Forest Management Technology from Montgomery Community College, a BS in Forest Management from NC State University, and is S-130, S-190 and I-100 certified in NC Prescribed Fire Training.
