Montgomery Community College is partnering with Montgomery County Schools to offer auto mechanic training. MCC will host classes at East Montgomery High School. This course will prepare individuals for an entry-level position as automotive service technicians.

DRONE SCHOOL

This course prepares individuals for small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) flight certification. Topics include flight theory, operations, and training utilizing the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Remote Pilot - Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Study Guide, the North Carolina Unmanned Aircraft Systems Operator Permit Knowledge Test Study Guide, and the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Division of Aviation UAS flight standards & best practices.  The course introduces commercial, government, and recreational drone applications and will highlight topics such as regulations, weather, airspace, human factors and sUAS performance. Upon successful completion, individuals will be prepared to sit for the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Knowledge Test and NCDOT UAS Operator Permit. This course is taught utilizing the NC Department of Transportation Division of Aviation approved curriculum.

Drone Academy – Fall 2019/Spring 2020
TBA – This fall the NC Public Safety Drone Academy will launch their new NC Public Safety UAS Leadership Institute. Cadets will be introduced to industry leaders, attend workshops and seminars, get hands-on flight training, review laws and regulations, take part in various field trips around the state, and see first-hand how drones are being utilized throughout North Carolina. Upon completion of the institute, cadets will participate in a graduation ceremony to receive their certificates.

HEATING, VENTILATION & AIR CONDITIONING (HVAC)

Individuals may take the HVAC program as either a college credit (curriculum) program or a noncredit (continuing education) program. Successful completers of either program are eligible to take the NATE certification exam.
