**Please be advised: Students may apply for financial aid on January 1, 2008 for the upcoming academic year (which begins in August 2008). Students who wait until after March 15, 2008 run the risk of receiving reduced awards due to state funding shortfalls. In addition, students need to be aware that the financial aid process usually requires a minimum of two weeks to complete. Students who wait until two weeks prior to the start of the term to apply for financial aid may have to pay tuition and fees out-of-pocket for their first term.
The U.S. Department of Education selects applicants for a process called verification in which you must provide copies of tax forms, W-2s, child support payments, or other similar statements of income. These forms must be supplied and certified prior to receiving an award. Please, do not wait. APPLY EARLY!
To assist students and their families with the application process, the financial aid office provides assistance with filing your online application every Monday night from 5pm - 7pm, excluding holidays and inclement weather. Please call 910.576.6222, ext. 336 to schedule an appointment.
