Department: Pottery
Supervisor: Mike Ferree
Work to be Performed: Mixing clay, testing and mixing glazes, loading and firing kilns, assisting in setting up pottery exhibits, assisting pottery students with clean-up, maintenance of pottery equipment
Qualifications: Must be a Pottery student
Hours Needed: 8 hours/week

Department: Forest Management
Supervisor: Russell Strong
Work to be Performed: Wash Forestry vehicles. Keep vehicles clean inside and out. May work on hand tools, roads, firelines and other outside duties as assigned by supervisor. Some indoor Forestry Lab and other duties not listed above but related to the Forestry profession will be assigned by supervisor on an as need basis.
Qualifications: Forestry Student
Hours Needed: 8 hours/week –work anytime not in class Mon-Thu 8:00 – 5:00, Fri 8:00 – 3:00

Department: Student Services
Supervisor: Matthew Woodard
Work to be Performed: Serve as receptionist to the College, which includes greeting clients, as well as routing and screening incoming telephone calls.Provide general secretarial support to the Student Services Division staff. Utilize professional judgment in the execution of all duties in a neat and accurate manner.Disseminate accurate information to all callers, visitors, College personnel and students.Assign students to ASSET/COMPASS placement testing sessions.
Qualifications: Knowledge of names, locations and functions of all personnel and divisions at the College; ability to display a professional and courteous attitude to all clients served by the College; willingness to train and learn the telephone equipment in use at the College; ability to speak clearly and articulately; ability to maintain records accurately and confidentially; willingness to learn and perform general secretarial duties including (but not limited to) data entry, filing, preparing copies, facsimiles, scheduling appointments, etc.
Hours Needed: 20 hours per week-( will take two students at 10 hours each week); Flexible but day hours preferred (8 am – 5 pm)

Work to be Performed: Filing, typing, seasonal decorations; light housekeeping duties in offices and nursing skills lab; checking mail; loading paper in printers & copiers for Nursing faculty; going to BarneyMart for supplies as needed; stocking MCC forms on faculty office area on 2nd hall; inventory as needed; other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Non-nursing student

Work to be Performed: The library’s work study student(s) will be responsible for working at the circulation desk, including checking books and materials in and out for patrons, assisting patrons with computers and printers, keeping the printers and copier stocked with paper, shelving books and other library materials, checking books for correct shelf placement, and other duties as needed to fulfill the mission of the library.
Qualifications: Dependable, energetic, good people skills, general computer knowledge

Work to be Performed: The student will assist in a variety of office management and interpersonal job duties to include: Class preparation- making copies, typing agendas and flyers. The student will assist with Advisory Board meetings and Human Service Club meetings and activities. The student may also assist the instructor with checking and organizing assignments.
Qualifications: The student is required to have some computer experience to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and/or Publisher (or art software).The student must be motivated, good people skills, and creative!
Hours Needed: 8 hours per week, 10:00 – 4:00 Mon - Thur

Work to be Performed: Lab assistant Tues/Thur 8:00 – 9:30 am for Basic PC class. Must be proficient in computer applications.Assist instructor with online programs. Assist with recruiting.
Qualifications: Must have completed with a grade of B, Basic PC Literacy course.

Work to be Performed: Greet visitors in Con. Ed. lobby; answer all phone calls that come into lobby switchboard and answer phones in the offices when the occupants have stepped away from their desk.Create flyers, envelopes for mailing; filing, shredding, typing, copying, faxing.
Qualifications: Excellent computer skills; knowledge of Word and Excel; good telephone and people skills.
Hours Needed: 8 hours per week; Mon- Thurs 8am- 12noon

Work to be Performed: Work-study assistant duties consist of minimum filing of college correspondences directed towards counseling and assessment services. Will prepare and replenish assessment materials for administration of the COMPASS and ASSET testing programs. Will receive students when making inquiries of counseling, assessment, and career services.
Qualifications: Knowledge of computer programs such as Word, Excel, Spreadsheet, etc. Must have positive interpersonal skills. Must have strong work ethic.
Hours Needed: 8 hours per week. Student will need to be flexible based on seminars and/or related activities sponsored by counseling services.
Pay: $7.25/hour |

Qualifications: NO cash handling required, Must be dependable. Appropriate attire (no T-shirts or shorts). Ability to lift 10-15 lbs. and climb a step ladder.
Hours Needed: 20 hours. Need 2 students – one to work morning Mon- Thurs; another to work afternoon Mon-Thurs

Work to be Performed: Under general supervision, performs part-time clerical and reception duties. Provides part-time clerical / secretarial support to office staff and the Human Resource Director. Interacts on a professional and courteous level. Reports to the Human Resource Director. Performs duties as receptionist which involves operating phone system to receive incoming calls, routing calls, taking messages, and providing information to callers. Provides clerical assistance by performing duties as typing, filing, and maintaining records; copying materials; sending faxes, sorting mail, shredding documents. Operates a variety of equipment such as computer, typewriter, fax machine, copier, shredder, etc. Utilize professional judgment in the execution of all duties in a neat and accurate manner.
Qualifications: OST or Business Administration student preferred
Hours Needed: 8 hours per week; Monday through Thursday 8 am – 5 pm; Friday 8 am – 3 pm

Department: Educational Technology
Supervisor: Brenda Parsons
Work to be Performed: Maintain an accurate log sheet of all students who use the Computer Lab. Assist students with technical issues regarding students’ assignments in the Computer Lab. Monitor and ensure that users do not abuse nor take computer equipment and supplies from the room at all times. Constantly monitor all users in the room to ensure that they do not violate MCC's Information Technology and Services Policy and Procedures. Maintain printing supplies (papers, toners, cartridges, etc...) for the Computer Lab. Change/replace ribbons, ink cartridges, toners, and papers in all printers. Ensure that the Computer Lab is clean and organized. Lock and secure the room before leaving his/her shift. Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Education Technology. The Computer Work Study Student will work closely with students and instructors to resolve computer-related issues in the Computer Lab. He/she will have some exposure to networking. He/she must be able to work in harmony with students in the process of providing technical supports or problems solving.
Qualifications: The Computer Lab Work Study Student should have a basic knowledge of personal computers hardware and software including basic hardware troubleshooting, printing and configuration.
Hours needed: 8 hours; mostly evening and some daytime
