Effective Teacher Training

Effective Teacher Training is a 36-hour online course designed to prepare students for work as substitute teachers or teacher assistant in the public school system. Topics include: reading lesson plans, classroom management, teacher-student and teacher-parent relations, and more. This program is self-paced and allows students to complete the coursework at any time between the start and end dates of the class. Those that successfully complete the course will earn a certificate of completion. Cost: $125

Forestry for Landowners

Forestry and Tree Care Series

NC Registered Forester and MCC Senior Instructor, Mike Thompson, will be hosting a series on forestry and tree care. The following series of courses is intended for forest landowners who want to know more about their timberland, or for forestry practitioners who need a refresher. Each course will be designed as a 3-hour lecture, demonstration, and/or field exercise on the MCC campus, in the Forestry Building, or in the campus forest. Participants should dress for light field conditions including rain gear if the weather calls for it. Handouts and equipment will be provided.

DATES: May 27 - July 15, Tuesdays and Thursdays

TIMES: 6:00—9:00 PM

COST: Students may take one or all of the courses for a flat fee of $125
