The MCC Library, located in Building 200, has over 21,000 books and subscriptions to 100 current periodicals with back issues held for three years. Materials are selected for the library based on course and programs offered at the College.
Library patrons are encouraged to use the library for study, research, self-improvement, and browsing. Professional staff are on duty to assist with reference, research, and reading guidance. Study carrels are provided for quiet, individual study, as well as tables for individual or small group work.
A pay-per-use photocopier is located near the entrance to the library. Copies cost ten cents per copy. The copier uses nickels, dimes, quarters and dollar bills. Change is NOT available in the library. There is a change machine in the student lounge in Building 100. The library staff will not photocopy materials for patrons, but is available to provide assistance with copier operation. Patrons are expected to abide by all Copyright and Fair Use laws and guidelines.
The library has sixteen computers available to students and three available to the public. These computers have access to the Internet and are loaded with the same software as is available in the computer labs. Anyone using the computers is expected to abide by the MCC Internet Acceptable Use Guidelines. Patrons may print to the two printers located at the circulation desk. There is no charge for student printing related to class work. All personal printing is ten cents per sheet. Non-students are expected to pay ten cents per sheet printed. It is recommended that users use the Print Preview option before printing to eliminate wasteful printing. Non-student users must present a valid photo ID and sign in at the library desk before using computers.
Orientation sessions and library tours are available for instructors and students. These sessions will be personalized for each instructor and class with a focus on materials appropriate to the asignment and/or course content.
