Institutional Effectiveness

Institutional Accreditation

Montgomery Community College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097; telephone number 404-679-4501) to award certificates, diplomas, and associate degrees.

To gain or maintain accreditation with the Commission on Colleges, an institution must comply with the standards contained in the Principles of Accreditation: Foundations for Quality Enhancement and with the policies and procedures of the Commission on Colleges. The college was initially accredited in 1978 and was most recently reaffirmed in 2003. The college, through the campus-wide development of a Quality Enhancement Plan will next seek reaffirmation in 2014. The Dean of Institutional Development serves as the institution’s SACS liaison and as such, is the coordinator of all SACS-related activities and submits all required SACS documents.
