This tutorial will take you about 10 to 15 minutes to complete. When finished, you should have a better idea of what technology literacy skills are needed to be successful in an online class.
When you first log in to blackboard, you should see a "Fall 2010 Please Begin Here" course. If you are new to Distance Learning at MCC, click on the link to that course for a brief overview of how to get started in your online classes. You will also need to attend either our online orientation, or one of the scheduled orientations we offer on campus.
First, we will need to Login to Blackboard, the course management software that MCC uses to house all its online courses. Please read all these instructions before beginning:
- Left click HERE to go to the Log In page. (Login for Blackboard: http://mcc.blackboard.com)
- Once there, you will see a place to type in a Username and a Password. Type in the word student in each. Left click on Log In.
- The next window that opens is a start page. Look for a course title, Are You Ready For Distance Learning? Left click on this title.
- Another window will open and you have arrived at the start of the course!
- Read and follow the directions on each page as you go through the tutorial. You can always use the Back button if you need to re-read something.
Good Luck!
