Description: This course is a study of geographical, political, economic, and social conditions existing in North Carolina from America 's discovery to the present. Topics include native and immigrant backgrounds; colonial, antebellum, and Reconstruction periods; party politics; race relations; and the transition from an agrarian to an industrial economy. Upon completion, students should be able to analyze significant political, socioeconomic, and cultural developments in North Carolina . This course has been approved to satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement for transferability as a premajor and/or elective course requirement
