Proof of Student Attendance and Participation

When you first log in to blackboard, you should see a "Fall 2010 Please Begin Here " course. If you are new to Distance Learning at MCC, click on the link to that course for a brief overview of how to get started in your online classes. You will also need to attend either our online orientation, or one of the scheduled orientations we offer on campus.

Montgomery Community College adheres to strict policies governing class attendance. Your online attendance is determined by communications with your instructor and by turning in assignments on time. At the 10% point (end of day - midnight EST -August 25, 2010) in the class, you must have participated in the course in a manner acceptable to the instructor. Otherwise, you will be dropped from the class roster.

How to confirm your participation and attendance for financial support

Are you receiving Financial Aid, unemployment or any workforce training benefits that require that you turn in paperwork which states your participation in a class?

1. It is your responsibilty to email your instructor (a few days before you need to turn paperwork in) and ask for confirmation of attendance and estimated hours of participation for financial aid such as WIA, Unemplolment etc. This does not include PELL.

2. Your instructor will reply to your email. This email should be affixed to your attendance verification sheet as the instructor's signature.

3. Instructors will automatically record PELL attendance at the 10% date of the class. For Pell attendance verification, you do not need to do any paperwork. Just be sure you attend your online class!

If you are receiving Financial Aid or need proof of attendance, please see the Orientation page regarding this process. Click HERE to view that information.
