Notary Public Education
This seven-hour course is required for individuals to obtain a North Carolina Notary Public Commission. Both class sessions must be attended to receive credit for this course. Participants must be at least 18 years old; must reside legally in the United States and reside or work in North Carolina; must speak, read, and write English; and must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Each notary public candidate must verify his/her identity by presenting a state or federal government issued photo identification document, such as an NC driver’s license or a US passport. Students must acquire and review the required manual Notary Public Guidebook for North Carolina 10th Ed. before class begins.
