Golf Instructions (SS)
Whether you are a beginner to the game or need some work on your driving, chipping or putting, this class will give you pointers to improve your game. Topics covered in the class will include proper grip, stance, posture, swing, balance, chipping, putting, scoring and golf etiquette and more.

Shag Dancing
Meet new people, bring old friends, get some exercise, have some fun. Students will learn basic female and male turns, chase (trail), the start, belly roll, kick basics and more. We have a surprise planned for the last night. Come Shag with us!

Activity Director – Basic
This course is designed to provide basic training to individuals desiring to become an activity director in a health care related setting. Activity directors for adult care homes are required by the NC Division of Facilities Services to complete a minimum of 50 hours in an approved activity director course. Activity directors for nursing facilities are required to complete a 50-hour basic course with an additional minimum of 10 hours in documentation including the assessment and care process.

Floral Designing I (SS)
Studies have shown that living with flowers in the home can help people feel more compassionate toward others, feel less worry and anxiety, and feel less depressed. Start your spring decorating with new ideas using fresh, silk and dried natural flowers. Students will be given a list of materials needed for the class. A textbook is required.

Basic Basketweaving (SS)
Enjoy this Early American craft by learning to weave using a variety of natural and dyed reeds producing an array of designs for practical and decorative uses. Supplies will be available for purchase.

Beginning Beekeeping (SS)
A course designed for aspiring, beginning or seasoned beekeepers. The course will consist of an overview of beekeeping and its significance and rewards. Topics will include preparation, equipment, clothing, and tools required for beekeeping. New material and speakers in addition to information on diseases and treatments will be available to the students. Students will receive hands-on experience with pesticide regulations and use. The class will visit local bee yards. A textbook is required.

| Queen Rearing
This class will focus on queen-rearing and how queens influence the overall production and health of the hive. Different methods of raising queens and record-keeping procedures will be taught. Hobbyist beekeepers who would like to improve the quality of their bees through a more intensive knowledge of queens should attend. State apiarists will be conducting the class.

Glass Works at STARworks
Glass Blowing: As an introductory studio class conducted in a maintained hot working facility, students will: enjoy a brief history of glass, learn proper studio operations and safety, understand the properties of glass, practice methods for working the medium, explore traditional glass making techniques as well as contemporary approaches to glass and develop a personal aesthetic for the medium.

Fees: $65 plus $1.60 insurance, and Supplies and Equipment fee of $135 will be payable to the instructor on the first day of class.
Glass Fusing: This glass fusing class will give you an introduction to the process of creating designs in layered colored glass and fusing them together in the kiln. You will have a chance to make a fused glass tiles, dishes, and wind chimes by learning how to cut glass, fusing techniques, to assemble your glass safely and effectively, what heat is doing to do to your glass, and proper operation of the kiln.
