Bolt Action Accurizing

 Barrel Relining
  • Correct liner, drill, and reamer for the caliber they wish to do
  • Measuring tools; dial calipers or micrometer, etc.
  • Protective eye wear for lathe work.
  • Headspace gauges if needed for a caliber that you (MCC) do not have
  • Assorted files for finishing the breech end if extractor cuts and the like are needed
  • A barrel or two to reline
  • Test ammo. (To be kept out d the class room until test fire day)

Instructor will bring a collection of liners, reamers, drills, and anything else needed to fill the gaps and to replace the things that get forgotten or destroyed. Instructor will bring Acra Glas and Loctite to secure the liners. If students want to solder a liner in then they should come with the solder and flux they want to use. High Force 44 solder is what we recommend.
Students should be able to run a lathe prior to class. We can also do this the hard way with a hand drift for entertainment if anyone is interested. Only low pressure cartridges will be done. We can do .22 short and long rifle, 25-20, 32-20, 38-40, and 44-40. Instructor will bring along a 1911 barrel he relined to 7.62 x 25 Tokarev for show and tell. Class can do one of those or a 30 Luger if student shows up with one that reamer and a 30 caliber barrel to turn down into a liner.
